The Arts Council of Macon County is people of all ages, from differing backgrounds and places, with varying interests and tastes — people just like you — bound together by the belief that the arts are essential for a full life and a vibrant community.

Your Arts Council works year-round to promote and support diverse, accessible arts programs and activities, encouraging appreciation of and participation in all forms of artistic expression. We are 100% community-funded with donations from individuals — if the arts are important to you, too, consider joining us in growing the arts in our community.

Besides the events we produce, our main service areas are:

Arts Council ARTReach grants help other Macon County non-profits present community arts programs; the application we request is one page, starting with a simple "What's Your Arts Dream" letter. In partnership with the Macon County Board of Education, our Artists-in-the-Schools program provides instructive, interactive in-school performances and artists’ residencies in various art forms; artists or schools may initiate a program. We also award annual tuition scholarships to several Macon County residents pursuing a college degree in the arts.
